Ponyta (Galarian)

Here’s how to defeat Ponyta Raids that appear after Ponyta & Galarian Ponyta Community Day. Ponyta can be shiny from Raids, and defeating it in battle will trigger more Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta spawns around the Gym with Community Day shiny odds.

Galarian Ponyta can be caught with the following CP values:

  • 911 CP – 969 CP at Level 20, no weather boost

  • 1139 CP – 1212 CP at Level 25 with Windy weather boost

Galarian Ponyta is a pure Psychic-type Pokémon and is weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves. It takes reduced damage from Fighting and Psychic-type moves.

Galarian Ponyta will not be soloable, so we recommend a minimum of 2 trainers, with great counters.

Date and Time

  • September 14, 2024, 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. local time

  • You can only join these raids using Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes. Remote Raid Passes cannot be used to join these Raid Battles.

Completion rewards

Completing these special raids will cause Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta to appear around the gym in higher numbers, with the same shiny rate as during Community Day hours!

How to Get Mega Aggron

You cannot catch Aggron in its mega evolved form from the raid. The mega raid boss is always catchable in its base form, and as such, the CP ranges are for a regular Aggron. Aggron can be caught with the following CP values:

  • 1636 – 1714 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
  • 2045 – 2143 CP at Level 25, boosted by Snow weather boost

In order to get Mega Aggron, you will need 200 Mega Energy for the initial evolution, then 40 Mega Energy to evolve the same Aggron again in the future. If you wait for their ‘cooldown’ period to end, Mega Evolution is free. This cooldown period is shorter the higher the Mega level your Mega Pokémon is.

Mega Energy can be obtained via Mega Aggron Raids, and once you have evolved Mega Aggron, you can earn 5 Mega Energy per candy while walking it as your buddy. You can walk any Aron, Lairon, or Aggron to earn Mega Energy, as long as you have previously evolved one to register it to your Mega Pokédex.
