In Pokémon Go, there are so many different types of Pikachu but one of the most popular is the PHD Pikachu.
But how do you catch it??
Pokémon Image Box
PhD Pikachu
You need to win 100 PokeStop Showcases in order to capture Pikachu PhD in Pokemon GO.
You can exchange the Platinum Showcase Star Medal for a Pikachu PhD encounter if you’ve won 100 Showcases. This challenge has no time limit, so view it as a long-term objective that you can work toward over several months.
During special occasions, such as the Pokemon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event, showcases are held at PokeStops. Every Showcase evaluates a particular Pokemon species or kind according to a set of rules, however the largest size is typically the criterion. Participants receive points according on how closely they fulfill the requirement, and a leaderboard shows the position of every Pokemon among the competitors!
You will receive awards at the conclusion of a Showcase, regardless of where your Pokemon finishes. On the other hand, the top three finishers will earn item bundles, and you will level up the Showcase Star Medal if your entry places first.
You’ll earn brand-new avatar items inspired by Pikachu PhD for claiming the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Showcase Star Medals. And after achieving the Platinum Showcase Star Medal, you can finally get an encounter with Pikachu PhD!
Can Pikachu PhD be Shiny?
Regretfully, a Shiny Pikachu PhD is not available in Pokemon GO.
You’ll have to settle for a regular Pikachu for the time being because, regrettably, Pikachu PhD isn’t eligible for the Shiny versions of other costumed Pikachu found in the mobile game.Regretfully, a Shiny Pikachu PhD is not available in Pokemon GO.

How to Get Mega Aggron
You cannot catch Aggron in its mega evolved form from the raid. The mega raid boss is always catchable in its base form, and as such, the CP ranges are for a regular Aggron. Aggron can be caught with the following CP values:
1636 – 1714 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
2045 – 2143 CP at Level 25, boosted by Snow weather boost
In order to get Mega Aggron, you will need 200 Mega Energy for the initial evolution, then 40 Mega Energy to evolve the same Aggron again in the future. If you wait for their ‘cooldown’ period to end, Mega Evolution is free. This cooldown period is shorter the higher the Mega level your Mega Pokémon is.
Mega Energy can be obtained via Mega Aggron Raids, and once you have evolved Mega Aggron, you can earn 5 Mega Energy per candy while walking it as your buddy. You can walk any Aron, Lairon, or Aggron to earn Mega Energy, as long as you have previously evolved one to register it to your Mega Pokédex.

Adventure Effects and Elite TMs
Some Pokémon caught from Road of Legends raids may know special Charged Attacks that have Adventure Effects!
Kyurem caught from raids may know the Charged Attack Glaciate.
Origin Forme Palkia caught from raids may know the Charged Attack Spacial Rend.
Origin Forme Dialga caught from raids may know the Charged Attack Roar of Time.
Use Elite TM to unlock Adventure Effects for the first time!
For the first time in Pokémon GO, Spacial Rend and Roar of Time will also be available through Elite TMs for a limited time.
From the start of Road of Legends through Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global, Trainers will be able to use an Elite Charged TM to teach Spacial Rend to Origin Forme Palkia, or Roar of Time to Origin Forme Dialga.
This limited-time feature is part of the celebration of Pokémon GO’s 10th Anniversary.
New Special Backgrounds Debut
Special Backgrounds are making their debut during Road of Legends and Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global!
Pokémon caught from five-star raids, Primal Raids, and Mega Raid Battles between July 6 and July 12 may have a Special Background.
Mewtwo caught from Super Mega Raids during Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global may also have a Special Background.
If a Mewtwo with a Special Background is Mega Evolved, its Mega Evolution background will have an additional visual effect.
After catching certain Pokémon from Raid Battles, Trainers may receive a Special Background on that Pokémon’s summary page. These work similarly to the Location Backgrounds usually available during in-person Pokémon GO events, acting as a souvenir for when and where the Pokémon was caught.
This makes Road of Legends a great opportunity to hunt for souvenir Pokémon from some of the biggest raids leading into GO Fest Global.

Super Mega Raids are more difficult than standard Mega Raids and are designed for coordinated groups of Trainers. These battles are best attempted with several Trainers, especially if each player has at least one Mega-Evolved Pokémon in their battle party.
Defeating a Super Mega Raid will reward Trainers with more rewards than a standard Mega Raid, including more Mega Energy.
Super Mega Raids may only appear at certain Gyms. Trainers can use the official Pokémon GO map or Campfire to find upcoming and active Super Mega Raids nearby, and coordinate with local communities ahead of time.

Mega Scizor is a Bug and Steel type Mega Raid boss. Due to its 2x weakness to the Fire type, the best counters for Mega Scizor are strong Fire type counters.
It is possible to solo Mega Scizor in Sunny weather, particularly with the use of Mega evolved Fire type Pokémon, and Shadow Pokémon, but only for the high level, well prepared trainer. In all other cases, around 2-5 trainers with strong and high-level Fire type Pokémon can take down Mega Scizor with relative ease, no matter what the weather in the game is like.
This write-up will serve as a comprehensive guide to successfully beating Mega Scizor in the raid.

Once you have evolved a Scizor you can use 40 Mega Energy to evolve it again, or you can wait for the cooldown period to end for a free Mega Evolution.
