How to obtain each Pokémon GO Eevee evolution

This is a brief guide explaining how to evolve every Eevee Form in Pokémon GO. You will need to preplan and target each evolution independently in order to obtain all Eevee forms. You can utilize the matching naming tricks for each form, which are listed in a separate table below.

Eevee evolution name changes

Eevolution, a combination of Pokémon’s name and the word evolution, is a unique technique in Pokémon GO that allows Eevee to evolve into any desired evolution form, much like in the anime and main series games.

By first giving Eevee a certain nickname and then evolving it, the trick is achieved. In addition to providing a comprehensive explanation of how to consistently evolve Eevee into a desired form, this book includes a list of all Eevee evolution names.

  • Eeveelution is assured if you use the nicknames listed in the table below to name your Eevees and spend 25 sweets to evolve them.
  • Make sure you are utilizing this strategy for an exceptionally good Eevee and their evolution equivalent because it only works once each evolution.
  • You will need to evolve using standard in-game processes, which are detailed throughout this guide, after you have employed the Eevee naming trick for a specific eeveelution.

Have a look at the name change chart below.

Please note you carefully plan before using the name trick because it can only be used once per evolution. This holds true for any eevolution that is currently available in the game.

How to evolve Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon in Pokémon GO

Flareon

Obtaining Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon is simple; these forms are rewarded as random evolutions and don’t require any unusual circumstances. The game will determine whether or not an Eevee may evolve into any other form each time you evolve one from your Pokémon Storage; if not, the Eevee will evolve into Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon.

If none of the evolution requirements for other Eevee forms have been satisfied, evolving an Eevee will always result in the random production of either Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon. Whether or not the naming trick has already been used is irrelevant; it costs 25 Candy.

To obtain one of these Pokémon, you may also employ the Eevee naming method.

Umbreon

Espeon and Umbreon can be evolved by walking 10 kilometers with your Eevee and evolving it during a certain time of day, or by utilizing the Eevee name trick (Sakura for Espeon, Tamao for Umbreon). Espeon like daylight, as you might expect, but Umbreon prefers darkness.

Use Day and Night to evolve Espeon and Umbreon

Use your Eevee to perform the following actions to obtain Espeon and Umbreon:

  1. Assign your buddy to the Eevee you want to evolve.
  2. Earn two Eevee candies with your companion by walking at least ten kilometers with Eevee.
  3. While the Eevee is your friend, evolve it.
  4. You will gain Espeon if you evolve an Eevee during the day.
  5. You can get Umbreon by evolving an Eevee at night.

Prior to the evolution, Eevee needs to be set as a friend. Once all requirements are satisfied, the trainer will evolve a Psychic type Espeon during the day, and a Dark type Umbreon will appear at night in the Pokémon GO app.

The GPS signal is also necessary since local time determines day and night; otherwise, the evolution will be random. Neither Espeon nor Umbreon, nor any other Pokémon that needs a unique object or job to evolve, spawn in the wild.

The only way to get one of these Pokémonn is to apply this evolution process repeatedly.

FAQ

FAQ Section

FAQ

How can I tell if I’ve used a Nickname already without evolving?
You can tell if you used a Nickname already attempting to use it and changing your Eevee’s Nickname. If the desired evolution’s silhouette does not appear on the evolve button, then you’ve already used that Nickname before to guarantee that evolution.

For example, if you are trying to evolve an Eevee into a Leafeon using the Nickname trick, you would see Leafeon’s silhouette. Otherwise, you likely used it previously.
Is there anyway to guarantee Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon?
The only way to guarantee Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon is using the nickname trick. Each name will only work the first time it is used. Afterwards, it is random which of the three you will receive.
What time is considered day/night to evolve Espeon/Umbreon?
Day and night are based on your local time. They can be determined by looking at the environment and sky in-game. If it’s day in-game, you can evolve into an Espeon. If it’s night in-game, you can evolve into an Umbreon. To verify which your Eevee will evolve into, you can look at the silhouette and evolution information on the evolve button.
How do I obtain a Mossy Lure Module/Glacial Lure Module?
Mossy Lure Modules and Glacial Lure Modules are occasionally given as Research rewards, so you might already have one in your item bag. Otherwise, you can purchase them in the in-game shop.
I’m not near a PokeStop with the right lure, can I still use the nickname trick to evolve a Glaceon or Leafeon for the first time?
Yes, the nickname trick does not have any other requirements. You just need to nickname your Eevee. Make sure to check the silhouette on the evolve button that you have the evolution or haven’t used that Nickname already.

How to Get Mega Aggron

You cannot catch Aggron in its mega evolved form from the raid. The mega raid boss is always catchable in its base form, and as such, the CP ranges are for a regular Aggron. Aggron can be caught with the following CP values:

  • 1636 – 1714 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
  • 2045 – 2143 CP at Level 25, boosted by Snow weather boost

In order to get Mega Aggron, you will need 200 Mega Energy for the initial evolution, then 40 Mega Energy to evolve the same Aggron again in the future. If you wait for their ‘cooldown’ period to end, Mega Evolution is free. This cooldown period is shorter the higher the Mega level your Mega Pokémon is.

Mega Energy can be obtained via Mega Aggron Raids, and once you have evolved Mega Aggron, you can earn 5 Mega Energy per candy while walking it as your buddy. You can walk any Aron, Lairon, or Aggron to earn Mega Energy, as long as you have previously evolved one to register it to your Mega Pokédex.
