Similar to Eevee, Tyrogue was introduced in Generation 2. It has seen several evolutionary stages. Like in the original Pokemon Gold and Silver, the small Pokemon can develop into Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, or Hitmontop depending on its stats.
On the other hand, Tyrogue evolves into Hitmontop in Pokemon Go only if its HP is the highest stat, as opposed to the original games’ scenario when Attack and Defense are equal.
Tyrogue’s evolution is out of your control in Pokemon Go, but you may use the Appraise tool to find out which Pokemon it will become by knowing Tyrogue’s greatest stat.
How to obtain and hatch Tyrogue?
- Along with 2km and 10km eggs, 5km eggs can also be randomly distributed by spinning the sign on a Pokéstop or gym.
- You receive gifts from other Pokémon GO players in the form of 7km eggs (in your profile > friends area).
- Eggs will not drop if you are carrying more than nine eggs at once. You can only carry nine eggs at once.
After obtaining the desired egg, place it in an incubator and take a stroll; repeat till you obtain your Tyrogue.
Tyrogue Evolution: How to get Hitmontop, Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee
Tyrogue’s branching evolution options are handled in a way that is influenced by the rules of the handheld series, without being exactly the same. This is similar to how receiving Tyrogue feels like the games it initially appeared in. In Pokémon GO, each evolution is linked to unique Attack, Defense, and HP stats, unlike other games where the evolution is determined by your Tyrogue’s Attack and Defense stats:
- Hitmonlee is associated with Attack
- Hitmonchan is associated with Defense
- Hitmontop is associated with HP
