Trainers, Niantic has just shared a Halloween 2024 teaser on social media, featuring silhouettes of several Pokémon which are traditionally connected with Halloween. Curiously, one new Pokémon was spotted, which is not traditionally associated with Halloween: Morpeko, the Hangry Pokémon!
Niantic shared this image with the message “What could be creeping and crawling its way to #PokemonGO during the Halloween Part I event? ”:
And we can more or less guess all of the Pokémon on the image:
- Zubat
-
Murkrow
-
Gastly
-
Pikachu
with witching hat -
Sableye
-
Greavard
-
Morpeko (Full Belly)
We actually think that the version of Pikachu teased above is the “Halloween Pikachu” which could be made available again during this event, at least judging by the silhouette.
This Pikachu was first introduced during the Halloween 2017 event titled the “Special Halloween Pikachu”. Not so special anymore, are you now?
Just kidding, it’s still a wonderful costume! But alas, we are here to talk about… MORPEKO!
Morpeko spotted!
Morpeko (Full Belly)
Niantic has already officially confirmed Morpeko’s arrival during the Max Out Season, with a trailer showcasing Morpeko’s ability to change form! At the time, Niantic shared this:
Certain Pokémon—like Morpeko—will be able to change form in battle by using a Charged Attack, unleashing new possibilities for you and your battle team. Stay tuned for more details on the Two-Sided Pokémon’s electrifying entrance!
Alongside this post, Niantic shared this trailer:
If you look closely at this year’s Halloween teaser image, you can clearly see Morpeko’s shadow to the left of the Halloween Pikachu. Morpeko’s signature move is Aura Wheel, a move that alternates between Electric- and Dark-typing, depending on which form Morpeko is currently in.
We will see how Niantic is planning to do this. Keep in mind that Halloween events traditionally run during the third and fourth week of October, so we are expecting more news soon!
