Sableye (Mega)

Mega Sableye is a Dark and Ghost Mega Raid boss in Pokémon GO. Due to its 2x weakness to the Fairy type, the best counters for Mega Sableye should be strong Fairy type Pokémon.

Around 2-5 trainers with strong and high-level Pokémon can take down Mega Sableye with relative ease, no matter what the weather in the game is like.

How to get Mega Sableye

You cannot catch Sableye in its mega-evolved form from the raid. The mega raid boss is always catchable in its base form and as such, the CP ranges are for a regular Sableye.

Sableye can be caught with the following CP values:

  • 789 – 843 CP at level 20, no weather boost

  • 986 – 1054 CP at level 25 with Fog weather boost

In order to get Mega Sableye you will need 100 Mega Energy for the initial evolution. Once you Mega Evolve a Pokémon for the first time, Mega Energy will no longer be required for that specific Pokémon to Mega Evolve again. Instead, the Pokémon will become exhausted after its Mega Evolution and need to rest before being Mega Evolved again. In other words, there is now a cooldown period after you Mega Evolve a Pokémon. You can level up your Mega Pokémon in order to decrease this cooldown period.

Mega Energy can be obtained via Mega Sableye Raids, and once you have evolved Mega Sableye, you can earn 5 Mega Energy per candy while walking it as your buddy. You can walk any Sableye to earn Mega Energy, as long as you have previously evolved one to register it to your Mega Pokédex.

How to Get Mega Aggron

You cannot catch Aggron in its mega evolved form from the raid. The mega raid boss is always catchable in its base form, and as such, the CP ranges are for a regular Aggron. Aggron can be caught with the following CP values:

  • 1636 – 1714 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
  • 2045 – 2143 CP at Level 25, boosted by Snow weather boost

In order to get Mega Aggron, you will need 200 Mega Energy for the initial evolution, then 40 Mega Energy to evolve the same Aggron again in the future. If you wait for their ‘cooldown’ period to end, Mega Evolution is free. This cooldown period is shorter the higher the Mega level your Mega Pokémon is.

Mega Energy can be obtained via Mega Aggron Raids, and once you have evolved Mega Aggron, you can earn 5 Mega Energy per candy while walking it as your buddy. You can walk any Aron, Lairon, or Aggron to earn Mega Energy, as long as you have previously evolved one to register it to your Mega Pokédex.
